Police Training Package Release 11
The POL Police Training Package Release 11 will see the update to a range of qualifications to support the Policing industries workforce capability and training priorities. Public Skills Australia will update the POL Police Training Package Release 11 in collaboration with the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA), the peak body of the policing industry within Australia and New Zealand. This project will support the supervisory and management capabilities within police agencies. Additionally, police agencies have prioritised the update of the Not for Public Access (NFPA) training products regarding Bomb Technical Response to be included in the upcoming release. Release 11 presents a valuable opportunity to engage with a key industry partner through alignment of the qualifications with cross-jurisdictional strategies and capability development frameworks.

Finalisation of Training Products
Release 11 of the POL Police Training Package
The Police Training Package Release 11 project, led by Public Skills Australia in collaboration with the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency, is in its final stage. It updates key policing qualifications to better align with current workforce needs and industry priorities, strengthens leadership and management capability, and modernises specialised areas such as bomb technical response.
This includes updates to the following qualifications and their core units of competency:
POL50218 Diploma of Police Bomb Technical Response (NFPA)
POL58121 Diploma of Police Search and Rescue Coordination (Marine/Land)
POL60421 Advanced Diploma of Police Search and Rescue Management

Consultation Summary
The updated training products have achieved national consensus across the policing sector. Every Australian police agency has endorsed the changes, with formal approval provided by each jurisdiction’s Commissioner and the President of the Police Federation of Australia. Following public and government consultation, letters of support were also received from the Senior Responsible Officers in all states and territories. Finalisation
As part of the training product submission process, a submission form to the Training Package Assurance Body has been prepared. The details of this can be found below:
